How is AI already used?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) will become very important in the future of jobs, and it will make some drastic changes to the job industry. What most people do not know, is that AI is already being used to simplify many difficult jobs. AI today still is not advanced enough to fully replace jobs, and it might take many years to do so. There are many law firms and banks that already use AI to lessen the workload on their workers so that they can concentrate on more important tasks. According to a New Zealand law firm called Chapman Tripp, which was interviewed by NBR: “AI sorts, clusters and classifies an entire data room, which ‘saves valuable time and resources and allows project team members to focus on interpreting the results and informing/refining their strategy’”.

The AI that is already being used in jobs helps workers with their jobs, but does not replace them. Although this might change in the future, today AI is something positive for workers and the industry. AI today is here to automate tasks and assignments.

This can also be seen in the area of Telecommunication. AI can already be used to talk to clients, but in most cases, real humans are still needed. The AI in that field still isn’t advanced enough to make complicated calls. For example, US digital labor firm Ipsoft is using an AI to help their customer service teams. In the future this AI might even replace them, but today it is just an assistance for them. This AI can only tackle simple customer queries, but when it is having trouble, a human is still needed.

Although AI in jobs today is still small, and might still only assist humans, it has huge potential to replace many jobs. The possibilities in AI are huge, and this way it can either continue helping jobs, or destroy them. The future of AI is still unclear, but today it is only an assistance.
